In principle we are not the advocates of general exhaust air cleaning systems (as can be seen in our current public letter), but in some cases it cannot be avoided.
In order to prevent astronomic operating costs with combined systems, we like to work work together with the company Devrie.
To prevent damage to the biology in the filter, when it is necessary a portion of the recovered heat is not directed from the exhaust air exchanger to the animals, but it is used to maintain the biology in the filter.
We have had very good experience with the technology from Devrie in our facilities in Germany. The low back-pressure in the bio-filter leads to lower power costs in comparison to some other systems.
Now Devrie has installed two of our heat exchangers in a 6000 piglet rearing stable in the Netherlands.
They collaborated very well with us on this project, as with our common German projects.
On Friday interested Dutch operations managers could gather information on combined exhaust air cleaning and heat exchanger.
Only this combination makes it possible to reduce rising energy costs with exhaust air cleaning using the heat recovery system.
You can gain some impressions of the system with the images.
