Zone HeatingThermal imaging sheds the light: Again and again we see piglet rearing pens with nest area covers that do not have adequate insulation. As the first example clearly shows (in this case, the cover was provided by stable fitter), the heat loss is very high without insulation. This example was measured at an outside temperature of 18 degrees. At lower winter temperatures the heat loss would be much higher. The temperature difference to the room is reduced and the purpose of zone heat is missed completely. The second example shows, in contrast, well-insulated nest area heating with GRP cover (insulation on top of cover). The fact is: Zone heating systems, as the stable climate, should be in the hands of specialist companies.
