Many things critical to the design of the exhaust when designing the ducts.

If the conditions permit, we do our best to incorporate a central exhaust system. The air cleaning possibilities are better, as well as the ability to upgrade and to integrate a heat recovery system. The efficiency of larger ventilators is in some cases considerably better than comparable smaller types. Through that as well as through group switching, the energy costs are lower with a central exhaust system.

In the case that the installation of a central exhaust system is not possible, chokes and control flaps are generally used in our single exhaust systems to prevent negative gravity problems. The positive gravity effect is used by our
SCHWEKA control system. This is achieved by switching the ventilators off and controlling with choke flaps. The cross-section of all of our ducts are laid out to max. 3m/s.

Planning criteria for an exhaust system

Generally, for animals which are kept in groups (sows, piglets, fattening stables) a clear recommendation for an underfloor exhaust extraction is express. Although the fulfilment of planning requirements such as meeting the Clean Air Act are important here. In areas with low slurry channel depths, clear supply air ducts and low pollution levels in the stable (eg farrowing sections, sows in crates or covering centers) the under floor extraction is not necessaery.
